The recent COVID-19 pandemic that has spread worldwide has resulted in social distancing and quarantines in most regions. It is uncertain when our nation will return to normal. If you are running out of activities to keep you occupied during this quarantine, have no fear, as there are dozens of virtual tours and rides out there for you.

THEME PARKS

DISNEYLAND

Bring the most magical kingdom into your home! Transport yourself into Disney magic in your own home by experiencing their virtual rides. Although these virtual rides do not come from Disney’s website directly, you can find the most famous rides at Disneyland or Disneyworld on YouTube or other online sites.

YouTube offers excellent virtual Disney rides in high quality. These virtual rides include classics like Space Mountain, It’s a Small World and Star Wars. Micky and Minnie’s Runaway Railway from Hollywood Studios was filmed with a 360-degree camera and was turned into a virtual world that makes you feel as if you are right there!

VR THEME PARK

Virtual reality is a new, fun way to be able to have 3-D experiences that will seemingly feel real as if you were there in person. The creators of this theme park are outstanding designers and artists that wanted to create a high-quality gaming platform.

The VR Theme Park offers three awesome parks, with each having 12 rides. The themes of the park are Classic Americana, African Safari and Christmas, according to VR Theme Parks. The different types of rides range from bumper cars, the Super Flyer and Castle of Terror. The thrill-seekers will love the feeling of being hurled through the air and it will create the type of adrenaline rush as any other theme park would. You will not be standing in any lines at this theme park, so enjoy the park to yourself!

MUSEUMS

VAN GOGH MUSEUM

The Van Gough Museum was established in 1973 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This museum is the home to Vincent Van Gogh’s most extensive collection of artwork. According to the Van Gogh Museum, the collection is made up of 200 paintings, 500 drawings and 750 letters, all from Van Gogh himself.

Another neat aspect that you can virtually tour is Van Gogh’s Sunflower Gallery. Van Gogh created each painting and then sold them to museums across the world and have never been seen together since. Facebook offers a 360 virtual tour of all of the sunflower paintings in the same room together, which is their first-time reuniting, virtually! While touring the Sunflower gallery, you will get to listen to Willem Van Gogh, Vincent Van Gogh’s great-grandson, discuss each painting and the history and soul that was put behind them.

THE LOUVRE

Built in the late 12th century, The Louvre remains in the heart of Paris, France and is known to be the world’s largest art museum. Inside the museum, you can find over 30,000 historical and 21st-century objects.

No need to travel across the world to visit this tourist attraction; you can tour it right from your couch. The Louvre offers free online tours of some of their famous exhibits such as The Advent Artist, Egyptian Antiques and remains of the Louvre’s Moat. During this quarantine, you can take advantage of the virtual world and tour the world’s largest museum for free!
