Provincetown Bar Crawl

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN EASY & AUTHENTIC BAR CRAWL

I have been coming to Provincetown for over 25 years and have never drank alcohol there. Yes, I’m as surprised as you are.

This trip I decided to change that with the ultimate Provincetown Bar Crawl. After doing extensive research on the best bars, cocktail lounges, and pubs in the area, I gathered my group of vagabonds and we set off. Our initial goal was 7 bars. However, we were only able to make it to 4 and I blame that on the the incredible atmospheres and drinks of the locations and, of course, the alcohol.

Yes. I’m blaming it on the alcohol.

And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for, the bar crawl schedule.

All bars on this list were added because they are rated 4 stars or above on Yelp and have over 100 reviews, the pictures looked nice and they were located conveniently for a bar crawl.

Enjoy and be merry!

1. THE SQUEALING PIG

This has more of a pub feel. They serve great food here. We didn’t order it though. Yelp says its great, so that counts for something?

Drinks we ordered:

  • Bloody Squealing Pig
  • Saint Rita
  • Cape Cod Breeze

2. HARBOR LOUNGE

This is a chic cocktail lounge on the shore that has a dock over the beach with beautiful views. You can drink inside or outside. It’s your choice! This is a great place to watch the sunset.

Drinks we ordered:

  • Versailles
  • Lake Como
  • Blueberry Mint Lemonade with Vodka

3. STRANGERS & SAINTS (OUR PERSONAL FAVORITE)

This is a swanky cocktail lounge with a historic feel. Located in the newly renovated 1850 home of Captain John Cook, they have a beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking Commercial Street (the main street in Provincetown). It’s a great place to socialize and experience old and new world wines, artisan cocktails and craft beers each with pairing options of gourmet bar food and small plates. Inspiration for the different all-day drink and lounge menu comes from regional producers and distillers, local farmers, and the Cape’s fishermen.

Drinks we ordered:

  • Strangers Smash
  • The Matriarch Billington
  • Rose-hip Standish
  • The Lost Warriors

They also have $1 oysters here! We ordered 2 groups of 20 oysters. They came with a delicious pomegranate sauce.

4. AQUA BAR

This is a popular bar overlooking the water with a beautiful shaded seating area outdoors. They have a spot for dogs too!

Drinks we ordered:

  • Watermelon Mojito
  • Ginger Rita

That was our bar crawl! It was a lot of fun and I hope that next time we can add even more spots to it. There are so many great places to visit in Provincetown and these are only a handful. The places we weren’t able to make it to included; The Red Inn, Shipwreck Lounge, Jimmy’s Hideaway and Mews Restaurant & Cafe. If you’re visiting the area soon make sure to check them out!
