Barton Orchards is an orchard I’ve been visiting since I’m a kid, and one of my favorites, which is why it had to be on the best apple and pumpkin picking farms near NYC list. Barton Orchards is a 175-acre apple orchard and vegetable farm located in Poughquag, New York, which is about an hour and a half away from the city. They offer all the perfect fall things and are the “premier Pick Your Own farm in the Hudson Valley. Stop by the Ice Cream Stand to try our famous Apple Cider Donut Sundae, grab a bite to eat, and visit the Farm Market. We also have a great selection of local craft beer, wine, and cider at the Tap Room, with beautiful outdoor seating areas.” – Barton Orchards

SILVERMAN’S FARM

Silverman’s Farm is located in Shelton, Connecticut, a little over 60 miles from NYC. The Country market offers everything from fruits and vegetables to dairy products, jams, jellies, and condiments, plus pies, donuts, and other baked goods. Most importantly, there is a beautiful pumpkin patch, allowing you to enjoy fall foliage and pumpkins, all while having fun! There is also an animal farm!

WEED ORCHARDS & WINERY

For more apple and pumpkin picking fun near NYC, you can visit Weed Orchards & Winery. Weed Orchards & Winery is located in Ulster County, NY (approximately 60 miles north of NYC). It is the perfect spot to spend time with family or friends for some fall fun! They offer “Pick-Your-Own” where visitors are welcomed to pick their own produce and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the farm. Over the years, they’ve expanded even more to include a bakery, cafe, petting zoo, corn maze, playground, and a Winery, established in 2014.” – Weed Orchards & Winery 

WILKENS FRUIT & FIR FARM

Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm is located about an hour north of NYC. Wilkens operates “as a Pick-Your-Own and Choose-and-Cut farm with peaches, plums, nectarines, pears, over 40 varieties of apples, pumpkins, and Douglas and Fraser Fir Christmas trees available for harvest. Two of the original barns are open to the public as markets. One barn functions as a bakery with apple cider donuts, strudel sticks and fruit pies available.
