Black Owned Businesses to Support in NYC

June 15, 2020 | Stefanie DiMartino

With social injustice reaching its breaking point, there have been people protesting all over the country over the unnecessary and abhorrent deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless other black lives that have all mattered and will always matter. With the world in such disarray, many people have been wondering what they can do to help and make a difference. First and foremost, education is always key. For information relating to social injustice and the black lives matter movement, enter your name and email in the form below to get access to the free Black Lives Matter folder. In it, you’ll find a plethora of resources such as where to donate, petitions to sign, educational resources, and much more. Another way to help is by supporting black owned businesses.

We’ve hand selected the four black owned restaurants below because we love them. However, there are many more awesome spots so we’ve put together a map with all the black owned restaurants, bars, stores, and cafes in the city that we know of. If you know of any other black owned businesses to add to our map, comment their name and URL below and we’d be happy to add it! Share the map with friends using this link.
